The developers behind a £50m cinema and restaurant scheme on Exeter Road will attempt to defy a council u-turn on the project.
The council supported the scheme until recently, the change of heart came following the resignation of property developer and council leader Peter Charon on the 19th of January.
It was thought that the development would fall through as they needed to purchase council land for the project, they maintain however that this could be avoided with significant modifications to their planning application.
If the developers are able to progress the scheme Bournemouth will have three potential cinema and restaurant schemes within a few hundred metres of each other.
Cllr Beesley has warned that if the developers continue their application they could face a compulsory purchase order.
