Helen Cassini, Consents Manager at Navitus Bay Development Ltd, has released the response to the first round of consultation. Mrs Cassini said "We have thoroughly considered the responses that we have received to date, and it was clear that there was some level of concern about the northern triangle of our development zone, as well as some uncertainty about key project facts. We want to address community concerns regarding Navitus Bay, and I hope that these changes have gone some way to doing so. We are committed to ongoing consultation and I would appreciate any feedback that you might have"
1) The development area's north-western boundary has been moved further away from the shore. This will not only protect navigational safety for vessels entering the Solent but will also have a positive effect by reducing the visual impact of turbines from areas to the west of the wind park such as Poole, Swanage and Studland, as well as the Isle of Wight.
2) Reduction of the maximum scale of the project:
