Improvements to the bus service at Bournemouth Hospital required - Cllr Roger West

Local councillor Roger West is calling for improvements to public transport to Bournemouth hospital.

'The bus stop at Bournemouth Hospital is terrible,' says Cllr Roger West.

'Information is not clearly displayed, and its in a drafty spot.'

'When its cold or raining, it would be so much better if patients and visitors could wait in the main hospital building, but instead they have to walk out to where the bus stops are.'

More and more procedures are carried out without the need to stay in hospital over night.

'Out-patient procedures probably save the NHS a lot of money,' says Roger

'But when patients have to pay for a taxi to hospital and back because there is either no bus or its simply not practical, hasn't the NHS simply shifted some of that cost directly to the patients?'
