GRAHAM WATSON WELCOMES DANISH EURO CANDIDATE TO SOMERSET12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 15th May 2009 Danish European Parliamentary elections candidate Johannes Lebech will join Graham Watson for a visit in the South West today (15 May). Mr. Watson - who is first on the Liberal Democrats list of European candidates for the South West of England and Gibraltar - will meet Mr. Lebech in Taunton this lunchtime (12pm). Mr. Lebech is a member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) group on the European Parliament, and has been member of the Radical Liberal Party for nearly thirty years. Speaking ahead of Johannes' arrival in the South West, Graham Watson said: "Although we have a European democracy, we have no European demos, no European public space. Johannes Lebech is an MEP who has decided to try to stimulate cross-border debate by campaigning across the EU. I salute his courage and determination." ENDS
