Queen's Park wardQueens Park Ward covers from Queens Park Avenue to Cemetery Junction from Charminster Road to the Wessex Way. A lot of the ward is really in Charminster! With a good record of listening to people, taking action, and not taking support for granted it's no wonder people trust the local Lib Dem team to deliver. ContentsContacts

RecyclingThanks to Local Residents Bournemouth is recycling more! However more needs to be done and Mike Carlile has pressed for a continuation of the Green Waste Collection Service and it's extention into the Autumn months. He has also called for action to deal with some houses in Charminster where black plastic sacks spill out their contents. FoxesResidents have made us aware of Foxes in the area. We are taking this up with the council and wildlife trusts, with a view to their capture and release on Queens Park. Please neither harm nor feed the foxes! Bear in mind that discarded food waste in your council bin or in plastic sacks attracts them. Wilkins Bakery siteThanks to efforts by the community, a planning application was thrown out with the developer offering less flats, more affordable houses. There is scope for a community centre. We are continuing to meet with planning officers. Malmesbury Park SchoolResidents can use their Pool in the school holidays. We will try and secure funding towards a roof for the pool in exchange for greater access by the community! Bus servicesAlthough Charminster Road is served by a better bus service the other side of the road has seen a much reduced bus service along Bennett Road since the loss of the 17. I pressed both bus companies for restoration of the 17 route or the council to involve the community and to develop innovative transport solutions.
