Bernadette loves living in Southbourne with her husband, a former military man. As a party planner, project manager and writer she has the organisational skills to get things done and be a great local councillor.

Bernadette has always been involved in community life, for example organising a Charity Ball for Help for Heroes, volunteering at The Well Woman Centre and fundraising for a charity that supports young people with complex medical needs. 

She lives near Seafield Gardens and, while having a break from the office and taking in the sea air, loves walking all round Southbourne and Tuckton and supporting local shops and cafes. Supporting local people is second nature for Bernadette too, particularly local planning issues.

Recently, Bernadette has been working to improve children’s play facilities including the play park at Seafield Gardens where she has submitted a funding bid to the Council for £21,000 to replace play equipment.

Bernadette loves music and dancing, cooking, entertaining and reading. She also loves to write and is currently working on a novel.
